    thats excellent work john! (hot)
goldleaf & outside? 😮 thats gotta be very hard.. i had a hard enough time sitting in my workshop giving it a go never mind on the street with traffic and people firing daft questions at you.. like is that a joint your rolling mate  😆

anyway.. brill stuff john, very impressive & thanks for showing.

how long would something like that have took you, i know painting it would take a fair time but gold leaf?

also.. why is the part your working on got a sorta white wash/wipe over it?

    Thanks guys

Rob: That white stuff is a stuff like french chalk

If you don’t pounce the area with chalk the gold will stick to the other parts of paintwork you don’t want it to stick. (This is because freshly painted surfaces have a measure of tackiness even though ther paint maybe dry)

I might show a few close ups if I’ve got them

Great work John looks very nice :2thumbs:

We have never attempted to do any work as yet with goldleaf and never had any mention from clients, but, I think we are going to have to get some in and have a play to see how we get on and then offer it as an option where suitable.

Thats working in luxury.. a scaffold and set at the exact height
    youve been spoilt
do you work alone on these jobs

I do most days as does a mate of mine but when something like a couple of days work writing on a pub comes up we team up to crack it out quicker and have a good laugh as well

    cheers

Spoilt is the word. You don’t get this kind of platform everyday

Normally work off tressles and youngman

Normally work alone but have on occasions, like yourself, had another signwriter help if there a lot to do.

Like you we tend to (chat.) about everything under the sun
