  • Thermal Stress to Glass Guidlines: Free Download by the ISA-UK

This was posted elsewhere, so I thought I would pass it on.

Owing to the consistently high temperatures the UK is experiencing, the Technical Committee at ISA-UK have re-issued the following Guidance Note:

2020.05.01: Thermal stress to glass and the application of vinyl graphics
Hopefully, the guideline can help when making an informed choice on graphics being used on any external expanse of glass in a shop, retail or office environment.

It is a good thing to share this type of issue. as it appears to be more common, or at least maybe there is more awareness of it.
A local company to me who state they “specialise in signs and window films” did a load of windows in tint, only for the windows to crack for this same reason. the company went bust and opened up the following day under the same, but slightly altered name.
