The Rovers Return Sign
OK, so a week or so ago we saw a sign maker being conned out of a few bob for a neon sign. Tonight on TV i noticed someone has pinched the letters from the left hand side of The Rovers Return sign, leaving on a load of locator’s behind!
i did a Google search to see what it said originally but to my horror i have found an old picture of the pub and the sign is the same in that too!
maybe they could call the neon guy back and cut him a wee deal? 😉
can anyone work out what it should have said before letters were removed?

Go on then, I’ll admit to watching Corrie (now and again).
I would guess it used to say ‘Newton & Ridley’ the fictitious brewery which runs (or ran?) the ‘Rovers Return’.

i reckon i’d agree with that Chris !
i probably wouldn’t have thought of it, but it now you’ve mentioned it, it’s the obvious choice, even the locators look right !

I think it used to say – "Proprietor – Annie Walker", but ownership changes hands so often these days that the local sign maker can’t keep up with all the name changes.
