hi can someone please tell me can text be mirrored

can you mirror say ford escort for the other side of a car or would it be reading ford escort one way ford at the back of the car and the other side would be ford escort with the escort at the back if you know what i mean

basically i am having a conversation with a client and he says it can be done

and if it can be done can you please tell me how

    thanks in advance

no you cant, I once had to try and explain to a customer why on one side of his lorry read "Grab Hire" from the front and on the other it read from the rear!!! just do a drawing to show the alternatives.

Some drift and boy race cars do literally mirror the text for effect, but it is "mirrored"

I would have thought it was self explanatory up until yesterday when I was running through a design with a client for his van. His logo is a roof to the left of the "G" in his name. He wanted both logos to be on the back quarter of the van and both to be next to the "G".

    Some people……..

You would not believe the arguments I’ve had with customers over the years on this subject with logos on cars or company vans. The answer is simple the English language reads from LEFT TO RIGHT end of story, no matter what. If you mirror the letters then it won’t read anything.
You can move the ford logo so its on the back both sides but then it will read Escort Ford. Just do it on the computer and mirror it all to show the customer. Ford says Ford and is the same no matter where you put it, left, right, up, down no matter what if you change it then it won’t say Ford.
In Japan on the touring / Drift cars they mirror the whole side, every logo and every name. it just looks weird, I guess its cos they don’t understand English.

slightly different but interesting none the less, I did a polo players horse lorry with a large pic of a polo player, I only proofed one side of the lorry and after mirroring the image and applying it to the lorry he asked me if I could change it as you cannot play polo left handed 😕 😮

Ah so not only does it appear that Prince Harry and Prince Charles are potentially racist (News of the Worlds words, not mine) but they also play a sport that discriminates against left handed people.

Right, back in a minute, im off to phone the Daily Sport!! :lol1: :lol1:

Ive had this problem several times myself including one man who started to started to get cross until I had to show him on the laptop how ridiculous he was being, he soon mellowed out when he realised he was wrong. :lol1: :lol1:

I have this problem but with Arrows on A boards. I do both sides of the board on the one proof now, because people used to tell me that they couldn’t sign the artwork as approved because clearly the arrow was going the wrong way on the other side.

So, I now put both sides on the proof, but now I get people saying they don’t want a left on one side and a right on the other because they only want to direct people one way or the other 🙄

Amazing how many intelligent people want to argue over this one. 😕
