I went to our new local TESCO store today.
WOWSERS, there are some signs in there.
Who the hell gets all there work?

after what they do to farmers & suppliers………they beat you down to the lowest penny (so profit is barely none) god knows how much they are paying for the signage!! 😀

I think Hawes do a lot of their stuff. They probably get paid in clubcard points.

Greetings from the land of the Maple Leaf.

Back in the old days when I were still a lad and still in the UK, we used to screen-print the t-shirts that the Tesco Bakery staff wore. Hundreds of the things every year. Having held the already cheap price for three years, we finally had to tell Tesco’s buying department that the price would have to go up from £1.30 each to £1.35 each. We were told they wouldn’t accept it and dropped us like a brick. Forget about any kind of loyalty – and they took ninety days to pay! That taught me a great lesson – dealing with the “big names” isn’t all it’s cracked up to be – give me smaller, personal businesses any day!

👿 We had a similar experience with the people who supply the metal work in car parks for people like Tesco. We were doing the graphics for disabled signs and the like you see in the car parks. The request for the pricing to drop along with shorter lead times were unreal. Thankfully they finally went away and left me to lick my wounds.
