yeah, thanks pete…. had someone photograph it for me today as it’s currently to far away for me to get too, but the plank thought he was david bailey and to them from all sorts of silly angles rather than full on…. lol

I don’t need the scaleable images yet as I’m getting the whole thing for 7 days I just need to put some concepts together for the customer so we can agree what direction to go in

I think the chap can get to it again tomorrow with some steps and a tripod, I have given him the details of what I need… thanks anyway

    HI MO,

I’d start with a regular outline, then using that work out rough dimensions for the box and make it part of the outlines, it’ll do for the purposes of the artwork ideas, just mention the scale may be subject to slight alterations.

all you need really is a good square on picture.
make sure the top of the camera view is parallel with the top of the vehicle.
measure one thing on the vehicle. width of a single panel.
scale the whole thing up till that panel is the correct size and all your measuring should be done for you.

as has been said, custom bodies wont be available on dvd.
i am faced with this scenario daily. exact same trucks but box built by different bodyshops. never the same, ive seen same trucks out by feet at a time.

and i feel your pain with regards to the pictures. :lol1: if only they helped. 😉

Thanks fellas, i think the biggest bummer with this is that all the panels on the side will be folded back when parked up and wont be seen, so I need images of the inside of the panels too so I can see what needs to be done.

This is my first catering van….. didn’t realise there was so much work in it, ah well I hope the customer understands that when I deliver the price!

    Hi Mo
word of advice if its your first catering van. If its been used, allow loads of time for cleaning as in my experience, these things are covered in grease and chip fat. It takes much longer to get them ready for graphics. First one I ever did cost me money as it took three hours to get it clean!

    Just a thought
