  • taxi wrap… working out a qty of material

    Hi all,

Has anyone here wrapped a taxi and could confirm / tell me how much material I need to order please?

I have a traditional shape london taxi to wrap and I’m a little uncertain how much material to order. The material is 1520 wide.

Taxi aprox 5m long (3 and a bit drops) and 1500 high max to gutter, so I’m over estimating 6 linear mtr per side ( 12 linear mtr)
rear 2m wide and bulbous so allowed 2m there, same for the front (4mtr)
plus the rood and pillars etc, another couple of mtrs.

So I think I’m looking at 20 linear mtrs, am I way off the mark?

Also, I have the labour price (sub-con) but am curious as to what people would charge as a linear mtr rate on a material costing £15 a linear mtr?

    Thanks,
    Hugh

PS, it’s just a colour change, graphics to be added after.

Hugh, if your subbing out the fitting then the installer should be able to give you a pretty good idea how much vinyl you will need if they are any good 😆
I did an FX4 years ago & honestly can’t remember how much vinyl I used but sure it was less than 20 mtrs although you will want to have a bit extra just in case 😆
