I heard that… Is it imminent? Or is it like everything else and it’ll be phased out?

Being phased out in the early part of the year.

I don`t konw if you have the option of a printed tax disc or it`ll stop altogether, as some classic car people like a tax disc holder with the suppliers name etc.

I think they’re failing to think of a few factors that a tax disc is useful for. Simple things like knowing a hire car is taxed, or a car you are buying. Does a UK car abroad need to have a valid tax disc? (That I’m not sure). The Irish have to show MOT and Insurance in addition to a tax disc. A pretty good idea if you ask me. Admittedly some European countries have other methods, but a visible method (in my mind) is better than something you pay for and don’t actually have any physical way of proving the vehicle is taxed. What happens when the computer system breaks?!
