Hi guys and galls.. a very happy and prosperous new year to you all! Just wanted to try out this posting picture lark really! The Picture is of a Waste disposal Tanker that we did over christmas. It might not look too special…. but firstly, we had to spend an hour de-icing the thing before we even started, secondly, it had ribs (all unevenly spaced and not paralell) every inch! (or so it seemed) and thirdly…. considering our normal stuff to date has mostly been boy racer or surf boy graphics, we were quite chuffed with our achievement! picture does not show all… but this was the biggest bit on the 30 footer!!

    (:)

Well done guys, may be simple graphics but an interesting surface to apply them to.
Did you manage to warm the surface up before application, or just remove the ice and hope for the best?

    Have a great year.

Really was a ‘get the ice off and cross fingers job’!! We had a couple of heat guns to warm it up as best as possible… then after we finally got the application off….. about an hour after sticking it down.. we went over the vinyl with a bit of gentle heat to get the adhesive to grab a bit before we left the scene!! All good fun though!

Looks good Addie, congrats also on your first big job! 😀

Imagine you would have prefered to do a box trailer in that weather though 😉

    Cheers, Dewi

I think you have managed great mate! Job looks good and like you said it’s a hell of a surface to apply to never mind with the ice-cold weather.
I have applied a good few of these types of vehicles and I hate them!
    Well done!
Something to consider and something I have been doing this year. If anyone asks me to fit a vehicle I say it must be inside in a warm workshop.. If not I can’t guarantee the life of the vinyls. I don’t body swerve it as I don’t want to loose the customer but as long as they know up front it is their decision and you have advised them then your covered for re-billing based on extra vinyl/labour for repairs.

Anything else you do feel free to post!

It sounds like a regular nightmare to install,
but you did good! Boggles the mind. (oogle)
