    HI guys

been out of ‘forum’ action for a while – had to go on a course to wonderful Chippenham!

I’ve received an order for 20,000 labels each, 50x25mm with a small amount of text and an incrementing number + barcode. Fortunately, these don’t have to be printed all in one go, just 1,000 at a time.

The vinyl they require is described as ‘tamper proof’ in other words, the stuff that breaks into bits when you try to remove the label.

As I plan printing with my Gerber Edge FX, just 2 questions:

    1. Anyone know what this type of vinyl is and could I obtain it from other than Spnadex?

    2. I aksed what barcode type – they didn’t have a clue and just said, the usual standard barcode! Is there a standard barcode?

I have a photocopy of the label if the barcode can be identified from that.

    Cheers

    John

in my software it seems to be Barcode 39 & Barcode 39 extended. Barcodes normally represent text or numbers. If you know what it should represent let me know & i’ll try to creat it for you.

Hi John, good to see you again, there is a barcode generator in Omega and the vinyl you want from Spandex is the ultra destructible, think I spelt that right. A little more expensive than the standard stuff so worth baring in mind when you price it up. The vinyl corp seemed competitive but not sure of the quality of the product. It does what it says on the tin so be careful where you stick the peeled bits.

    Thanks for the replies guys

I’ve followed up on each of the suggestions – expensive stuff isn’t it! Spandex supply Ultra Destructible vinyl which seems to be similar to what they’re using presently but only in white as far as I can tell. I know I can colour it using a yellow foil, but I’d like to get yellow if I can.

    Cheers
