• Swing panel clips

Posted by Chris Wilson on January 24, 2017 at 8:47 am

    Hi folks,

Got a customer who is trying to save the pennies and instead of buying a whole new kit bought just the panel, then announced when I dropped it off that he wants metal clips to attached it, not the plastic ones he has.

Any idea where i would get the clips? Never seen them advertised anywhere.

Most of the swing signs come with different clips, depends on the brand. Where ever you got the panel from would be a good start but the most popular and largest range come from signwaves and they do sell the clips for a couple quid although they will be plastic.

Its no good getting any old clips if they do not mount to the frame correctly you will be no better off. If your able to get a picture of the panel and swinger might be able to assist you more.

    Hi Ewan and kev,

Will call plex displays tomorrow and see if they have what am looking for.

Uploaded photo anyway, sometimes i forget there is a wide range of these things than what’s available from our normal suppliers.
Anyway these but in metal. Has a wee screw to fit it to the frame.

Usually the metal ones screw on to the sides

The clip and hole it goes through are the same as signwaves although looking at how it fastens to the frame that part looks diffrent and from the quality of the panel I would say 99% its not Signwaves and 100% its not plex as they use oval holes with metal bands and wont fit that hole.

Attached a picture of the signwaves clip and panel which im almost convinced would work, worst case might have to drill a hole to attach.

Hope this helps in some way.

Thats not surprising considering the state he was happy to put his old sign out in, just makes it hard to make an effort the next time you get a job like this cause you always think they will be a time waster too.

They are handy to have though and the price makes them cheap enough to throw in with a job if someone needs them replacing, I always keep a few sets kicking around just in case.
