Sweet Shop : Typically Seaside
Posted by Pryam Carter on June 26, 2006 at 8:30 pmThis is something that we do a lot here. Loud, tasteless, in your face, get as much on the sign as you can.
"I want it to be eye-catching" is all l hear.

nice work billy… thanks for posting.
i know what you mean, we get work like this on occassion.
like peter says, "sometimes" you just gotta give them what they ask. 😀 -
Waaaayyy too much going on there …. but yet it seems right! 😀
It’s there to catch the eye of kids who’ll drag their parents over to it – job done!
Give the customer what they want and they’ll come back for more! Good work! 😉 -
I’ve got to go and "Repair" a job I did the word Telephone 3" high in caps is a whole 2mm out possibly three but he wants it "straight"
I know what HE wants and it begins with an S too and ends in PGoop

Its signs like ths that strt my kids wanting some sweets, I guess that is the idea.
I actually like it. Bright and colourful… but I’ve got an urge for a lolly now 🙁

Don’t say that! Darn! now I want one too! Sat in a horribly dull office in Crewe 🙁 so not much chance!

I think that shows perfectly, the purpose of a sign – yes it’s loud, yes it’s busy & yes it is totally unbalanced but it will do it’s job – to advertise & attract…job done

Hey at least it’s bright and attractive and LEGIBLE.
Looks like fun to me!
love…Jill
(dammit I just woke up and now I want candy too!) -
I think for the public it aims it’s just great.
We got to be honest, it’s not a van, it’s not a fancy restaurant, it’s a candy shop we’re kids atracted by powerful colors, shinny pictures, etc should drag their mothers into, then they’ll leave with that sense of guilty … Mothers gaining weight … you get the picture … Job done.
I really liked it.
Obviously you did a great job.
