    Hello all,
The medium tack clear applcation tape, although very good for larger designs, is not efficiently taking off smaller cut work from the backing paper, my blade setting is good and not cutting through into the paper so there is no problem there, would anyone recommend a supplier and part No. of a high tack clear application tape for me to try?.

    Many thanks in advance
    Jeremy

Try Transferite Hi Tack. I use it all the time. Worth remembering that medium tack is not for small text applications, but is only for large lettering or graphics.

    Cheers

Thanks Shane that’s a great help, I see that Grafityp is a supplier and will be contacting them soon.

    Cheers

we use oracal high tack all the time too… have done for ages now.
app tape was always an issue for me… i would get sales guys come in giving me nice stuff to work with and great prices. the then "unbranded cores appear" things dont work the way they used to, then they do, then they dont. my opinion was i was been given good stuff to get the sales guys foot in the door then slowly fed the crap. as it was all unbranded i/our staff was never any the wiser until we saw how it performed.

anyway, just a thought. when you remove your small text from the backing paper. do you flip it upside down and remove the paper from the letter and tape or the tape and letter from the paper?

I agree Rob, thats why I have stuck to Transferite all this time. If the box is not marked Transferite, I dont take delivery. So much rubbish out there, at a cheap price, just not worth the grief out on a job if it is no good.

    Hi Rob,
I’m flipping it over and peeling the backing paper away, is this the correct method?

It is the best way to do it mate yes… so i guess the tape isn’t doing the job you want. ide go for high tack for a spell at least. i don’t think you will be disappointed.

Shane, its something i never understood…
all suppliers brand their liner, but why not the tape? obviously i mean the core. but lets say "Joe bloggs tape IS branded Joe Bloggs" surely its core should be "Joe Bloggs High Tack" "Joe Bloggs Med Tack" "Joe Low High Tack"?
i guess it maybe back to the old manufacturing plants re-branding their product for different suppliers. keeping the Core unbranded keeps costs down and the product can be stocked more.

i always remember when i first worked in a bakery… for months i worked the roll ovens. i pulled thousands of hot rolls from the ovens all day… a bell would go and the girls that were on the tables 30ft away from me would quickly change the "BRANDED SAFEWAY BAGS to Freezway BAGS, then onto ASDA Bags" and so on…. all the same rolls just different outlets and prices
