Would recommend you don’t skimp & get the cheap stuff.

I think the last lot I bought was from APA. 3M stuff if I’m correct.

I’m sure you are all aware – but there’s no such thing as true one-way. It all depends on the lighting conditions – it appears as a mirror on the more illuminated side…not great for internal privacy at night!

    Thanks for the replies,
its just to stop the sun shining in through the indian restaurant window, but he needs to see out, thats all.

Then go for TINT rather than mirror. Mirror isn’t that great at stopping glare. I was ‘made’ to install mirror even though I recommended to a customer ‘it won’t work’ in a local call centre. But nooooo, they knew better…a week later "em, hi. That mirror film doesn’t really work – can you suggest anything else"

(Actually ended up with blinds in that one)

    Hi steve,
stuff i use here in spain is "reflect pal" it is a poliester film, they do the whole range:

    Anti heat
    anti fade
security mirror (non visible and acts as safety glass)
    privacy (one way black)
decoration (like frosted vinyl in stripes/patterns etc
    safety (clear of different thicknesses)
    anti graffiti
and all sorts of coloured transparencies

Easy to fit, lasts really well, (we have had anti heat stuff on windows of private villas / offices for over 5 years and its still going strong!!

Dont know where you can get it in uk – got a box left of block out security, ill have a look for website

    http://www.reflectiv.com/eng/produits.html

just looked at box and found webpage – makers called reflectiv

    regards

Sorry too disagree David but Mirror tint does stop glare.
It all depends on the visible Light transmission of the film. A 20% VLT charcoal tint will only reduce glare by 72% while a 20% VLT Silver Mirror tint will reduce glare by 83%.
That is why many offices have mirror film, to stop the glare, and that is 75% of my business.
However any tint of that strength will, as you say, stop any sort of visibility out of the windows at night so may not be suitable for the customers needs.
