  • Supplier for rivets and caps?

Posted by NeilRoss on June 5, 2015 at 2:09 pm

    Hi guys,

Who are the recommended suppliers for blind (pop) rivets and plastic caps these days? I used to get them from Tofco but they don’t do that sort of stuff nowadays. The main this is to get the rivets and caps from the same supplier to guarantee they fit together properly.

    Cheers,
    Neil

Thanks for the link Garry. I may just get some of these in for future use. The job I need the plastic caps for is to match an existing installation, so nothing else will do in this case. I’ve found one supplier but still waiting for them to arrive to see if they will fit the rivets properly.

I used to buy these from Ashby but theirs is plastic coated and if your a little harsh when using the rivet gun the plastic cap snapped and left exposed aluminium. meant drilling out and starting again. that said, it did look good and neat. i reverted to the metal painted ones same as garry has posted but i am sure we buy ours via John Adams Sign Supplies.

Thanks Rob but it’s the rivet push on plastic caps I need. Tofco and Moss Express used to do them but neither seem to do them nowadays. They used to be used a lot in the production of road traffic signage.

For anybody else hunting for these, I’ve got them from Signgeer.
