    Hi Steve

We have dealt with spandex in the past. and have the odd bits when you find you cannot get them else where.

Thier sevice is second to none. the quality on the whole is good but is let down by silly little things. For instance the plastic fittings on the ends of directry systems.

Thier biggest stumbling Block is thier prices For instace cost the plotter that goes with the Edge I cant recall the exact price without going to paperwork but its pants.

Thier vinyl product prices well …But at least in the last two years they seem to be adressing these things and are now trying to be competitive.

………..FB There are better products out there at a better price.

We have used Spandex for a few years without problem. If you buy enough you can get the prices down. There Chrsitamas present suck though, we spen 8-10k a month on vinyl and we got 2 bottles or wine and a bottle of MOET!.

Paul French the new Spandex MD is coming up from Bristol next week to take us out for dinner on Thursday evening as we bought all our vinyl from ADP this month!!!.

    Spandex are very good though.

ADP, make daft mistakes, we asked for Avery banner and got 700 series matt white, and their deliveries although good, means we can.t get before 9am which can cause problems in the silly season. ADP don’t quite carry the full range of vinyls like Spandex but do carry a suprising amount of sign making substrates, sheet plastic, acrylic, foamex, dibond etc with a cut to size service.

I used Spandex for 5 years and I negotiated there prices to a decent rate
but after trying mactac found it to be a better product and switched about a year ago.
I wasn’t doing any thing like the volume of Tim maybe 2K a month and I don’t think they noticed id stopped using them. to there credit they are very reliable and my only grievance was joints in rolls but if you mention it they will avoid sending you them.

I have recently started using Oracle from PaperCo and I am enjoying the benefits of the uksign group’s buying power the boys here have given a big thumbs up to the product and say it weeds and fits better than ultramark and mactac so we are making it our stock vinyl from now on. Just for reference Paper Co’s stock levels arnt brilliant I had a recent requirement for some fleet graphics and needed 300M of 1250 mm Green but they only had 120 m in stock and was quoted 3 Weeks so unfortunately I had to go elsewhere. It would have been handy to know if any one else stocks Oracle in the UK so I can be consistent and source it elsewhere if required So if any one can let me know much appreciated.

Re Xmas Drink never had a cup of tea let alone a bottle of plonk from any supplier. must be to small or to ugly.

I’ve not been in the business very long and have not really used Spandex as they have always seemed to be to expensive. I met a Spandex rep at a trade show in Scotland a few months ago and he said they had neglected Scotland recently but were now keen to work with more companys up here and were now having a drive to re-establish themselves. I probably still wont use them though as I feel they are out of my price range even on vinyls. I know price isnt everything and they offer a superb range but all my customers want to buy as cheap as possible and if my prices are higher because I am paying more for my vinyl then the customers will go elsewhere.
