    Hi everyone.
I am having software trouble on my summa winplot.
I keep getting the blue window which I can do nothing with…I uninstall and then re install the latest summa winplot from the summa site. It works for a short time then goofs up again…meaning uninstall shutdown reinstall shutdown then restart…working for a couple of colours then it happens all over again 🙁
any help or advice in rectifying the problem greatfully accepted….Please.
    thank you
    Cheryl

it is now EVERY time I change a roll… 😮
emailed summa…nothing yet. I think I will do a system restore or something and see what that does…. I may be talking to myself…but its nice to know someone may be listening…..its what girls like.

    HI CHeryl,

can’t say i was listening but i have just listened!!

i’ve never tried to run it without the corel plug-in, which version of corel do you use? if i recall the plug-in is on the summa install disc which came with the cutter for my V12, no doubt the newer lug-ins are available on the summa site?

not sure why it’s blue screening though. i do occasionally get problems with mine (or have had in the past) if i have a lots of smallish cut jobs going on and i’m watching a movie or something to kill the wait time, no movie / media player and it’s fine every time, player on and occasional prob. poss just a coincidence but maybe worth noting!

    oh thanks Hugh.
I have corel 10. down loaded the plug in but dont know how to attach it to corel.
    nothing else running…
got an email from summa…they had forgotten to send an attachment…but not heard back yet.
tried system restore, but bluescreened again…
just managed to get a 20min job done in four hours 😮

I know this no help to your immediate problem but the best thing we did was dump winplot and get another copy of easysign to run our 2nd Summa. We just couldn’t get on with Winplot at all. Seems a poxy bit of software which goes with such a great cutter.

Just my take on it anyway.

    Cheers

    Hi Cheryl,

not sure how ‘you’ attach it to corel, it should open (an exe file?) and simply installs itself, corel opens and it’s there.

    Gary,
it’s not an amazing piece of software but it does it’s job! as long as i tell it the new roll is for eg, 15" long, it cuts fine every time, if i don’t tell it how long it is it spools out 5m’s and then cuts wherever it feels like it. other than that no more real drama’s than any other software i use.

It seems there was a problem with the software to these D60s up to last year…got a walk tho on how to totally uninstall…just waiting for him to get back to me with an idea of how to install a new driver without using the disc,….if there is a problem with that,,,dont want to reinstall it.
If they can fix this…im happy to carry on using it….but if not…maybe give easysign a go…..

Fair point Hugh. I ain’t the most patient of people and was real busy at the time so I just didn’t have the time to mess with it. I already knew Easysign so that was the way I went.

I know it does the job, but not brilliantly.

Cheers and good luck in getting it sorted Cheryl.
