  • Sublimation printer profile, advice needed please?

Posted by David Stevenson on November 13, 2018 at 6:47 pm

Hi, we’d always used our sublimation printer for things like machine id plates, name badges, etc. nothing colour critical as such. I’ve been asked by a friend to print some business card sized metals with a picture on them. The colours appear faded / not as vibrant as I’d expect. Printing via illustrator using a Ricoh printer with sawgrass profile. Pressing using medium pressure at 190 degrees for 50 seconds. Any ideas what to tweek apart from manually adjusting the original in photoshop. Thanks

Are they RGB or CMYK images.

Against my usual advice, sawgrass suggests using RGB.

How old are the inks? Is it the powerdriver ICC profile you are using, from Sawgrass. Recheck the setting just incase the profile has been unchecked. How much ink is still on the paper? There isn’t a plastic film on the business cards that needs to be removed?
