Does anybody out there know where you can get coasters and place mats with a matt finish for sublimation?
I can get gloss everywhere but don’t seem to be able source a supplier for matt. 🙁

To be honest it’s the placemats that l’m interested in. I’ve lost several orders because of the gloss finish. 😕

I have seen some in a local hotel with a felt backing. They had a slightly scored texture to the surface, with a matt finish. I wasn’t sure if it they were printed by sublimation. When I asked the owner I was told they were bought from a local shop, who in turn told me they got them already printed, but were not sure how they are printed.

I have also been looking for gloss placemats with a cork backing, other one’s slide to much on glass top tables. You can get cork backed coasters, does anyone know about these placemats ?

Sorry it doesn’t help you much, I just wonder how the matt finish one’s are printed ?

    Cheers

I believe these could be the ones by Themagictouch. They are composed of some kind of rigid board with a felt base. The printable surface is actually paper bonded to the mat. However, after they are printed by colour laser transfer a sheet of coverseal, which is a laminate, is pressed onto mat/coaster which gives a durable finish.

    Cheers
