• Strange request

I have been contacted by a chap with a large fleet (200 plus vehicles) who asked about plain magnetics as he planned to stick posters (about A2 size) on to the mags so as not to damage the vehicle but changing them regularly. Of course cleaning rthem off and putting others on is never going to work.

I thought initially of the sleeves used on vehicles for the hazardous waste signs etc but these I guess are riveted on so still affecting the bodywork.
Does anyone have a suggestion that might work for easy poster interchange?

I think John Childs was looking for something similar a while back. What about a thin clear panel with a magnetic border, so that the posters could be put behind it.

i think someone else posted this… got to keep magnetics in perfect clean condition when not in use… so how many of the 200 drivers are going to do that? Stones will collect and then scratch the paint work, panels will fall off and not be aligned correctly etc.

    Hi John,

Just a thought but what about doing away with the printed poster and magnetics idea and simply print onto cheap removable bus advertising vinyl and replace them as necessary?

The vinyl comes off very easily without leaving a trace and there’d be no need to laminate for short term stuff, plus the prints would be less ‘knickable’ than magnetic sheets.

Just a thought, why not cut the mag panels then stick on the posters with clear vinyl.

Nick – i think i know what you mean but might as well go straight onto the vehicle doing it that way unlees ive misunderstood

Mark – Where would I source such vinyls and bearing in mind I dont do digi – would need supply and print – and what sort of costs on A2??

Thanks all for input thus far
