We’ve made and installed a few racks to hold the plotter vinyl we stock and they work really well.

Trouble we have is storing the digital media (1600mm max widths) at the moment they’re stood on end behind the printer, and one clumsy knock, they topple like domino’s!

I could make another rack for the digital media, however, the wall behind the printer is just plasterboard over a stud frame, and there’s not a huge amount of space to turn with a roll.

I need something that will look tidier, and get stuff out off the floor.

Go to a metal fabricators in your industrial estate david. get them to weld some 2×2 inch steel tubing uprights to a steel plate 3-5mm thick and drop some plastic Roll ends on them. works great and costs very little.
i made some up for on the UKSG wrap training truck and in the process of making some up for our workshop.
we use the racks for everything, the pedestals are for next to each machine thats being loaded/unloaded as it saves them toppling like you say.

i’ll get you some pictures and load them soon as i get a minute as i’m chasing my tail trying to clear my feet for Sign & Digital Exhibition.

Hanolex have some good media storage solutions, we got a 16 roll rack on wheels, worked great for us. Coming to think of it, we could do with an additional for our ever increasing media range
