Hi Ian. we have this and used it a fair bit. to be honest you could do the same by including a known sized object and just scaling the picture from that then measure what ever you need.
Hope that makes sense.

I use a metre length of offcut magnetic sheet (1") wide and either use Signlab’e measuring tool or I have a macro from macromonster.com which I use with Corel.

I sometimes cut two strips of masking tape
Horizontal 100cms and vertical 50cms and place them centre of the bodywork for a photo which i can then use to scale when imported to flexisign. This is accurate at the centre of the picture when facing directly onto the markers but the camera lens will distort perspectives and measurements around the edges of the picture can be off.
Maybe the software in the program can correct for this.
I find I have to take several critical measurements to be able to fit from a photo.
I often end up checking both Impact outlines and my own photos where important. -
Can’t imagine ever needing this. Just take a photo and note down a couple of key measurements. I think they are just trying to re-invent the wheel and take some money off gadget geeks.

Pointless software, I use the sticky meter but just use the measure tool in Corel or Signlabs to scale it.

for vehicles all you need is a straight on photo and measure the wheelbase, simples!

I inquired about this software last year and was told it was no longer on sale, but since then as has been described on earlier posts, much easier cheaper ways of doing the same job, using corel draw, the magnetic measure is useul to use as a guide and also for fitting.

i must admit i have had a few issues with the scaling tool on signlab 8 lately im not sure if there is something ive changed somehow but when i scale the object does not seem to expand equally in both directions i.e. width will be fine but depth is not correct any one else have andy similar issues and know what the fix is ?
