Stickers for rugby shirt – for 1 day tournament
Posted by Pane Talev on March 13, 2019 at 6:44 amGood morning.
As per title, clients asked me to find a solution:
12 teams to have sponsors-sticker on they rugby shirt for 1 day event.(Stickers needs to come off after 1 day without damaging the rugby shirt)
If a sticker fall off during a tackle this is not a problem, that can be replaced with a spare.
Photoshoot before tournament with sponsors logo is important part.Is this possible?

There used to be a product called MacSilky, but I’m not sure if it’s suitable for digital printing. It’s basically a rayon cloth material with a self adhesive backing. We used to use it for short term exhibition badges. Might be worth looking at.

Thanks Jamie. According to Spandex MacSilky is not available 4-5 years now.
Any more ideas, anyone?

What about a cloth badge. Sublimated. The lightly stitched onto the shirt.
Or instead of a logo on the shirt, get armbands printed

Thanks Denise,
I will put this idea forward. I’m not sure if the light stitching will damage their rugby shirts, but that’s their decision.

I’m not sure about MacSilky, as the product details are still available from MacTac. It looks like the spec sheet was last updated in 2016. May be worth asking MacTac directly.

Perhaps too simple but would a “High Tac SAV” be good enough? If it’s only on for <8hrs it’s not going to be made permanent and should lift up with out leaving adhesive on the shirt. Although not sure if any non permanent solution will stand up to a rugby tackle! [emoji23]

I’ve used standard printed vinyl polymeric on my kids clothes when they have had world book day etc and it has stayed on all day, issue you may have is the material being a nylon but maybe worth a test print

Thank you all. Samples are in the post. Will update here as soon as I get the samples.

Funny enough.
Self-adhesive polyester sample arrived today. Internet name TAP-1530-13. Nice material but I will only use this for exhibition badges and similar.
Metamark M7 was sticking better than TAP-1530-13 on the rugby shirt.
3rd option – Arslan UltraTackMatt was sticking the best on this rugby shirt.
Because of price, client was happy to have the logo printed on M7 white for this 1 day event as it was holding enough for him.
A lot of palaver for nothing at the end. 😉
