  • Stepping into Sublimation Printing, advice needed please?

    Hi everyone…
I hope you are all busy and keeping well.

Looking for some advice. I’ve just purchased an Epson F6300 44inch sublimation printer and an Adkins Roll master 1.2metre rotary press.

My main aim is to produce flags and flags only. Here in my wee country of Northern Ireland folk love a flag 😁

The instructions with the rotary press are useless so I’m unsure of the best Speed and Temp settings to be using. Please if anyone has experience with this would you mind helping me out.

    Much appreciated.

    Wayne

    Hi Wayne

I didn’t know you could get a heat press that big!
I cannot help with the settings and so on. But i am curious because i thought that a wide format sublimation printer printed directly to the likes of polyester flag material and was dry when it came out of the printer and just needed to be trimmed or whatever you were going to do with it?

Hi Karen. You can buy direct to textile or dye sublimation which prints onto paper then has to b pressed through the calendar press. I went for a small calendar press as the biggest size of flag I’m going to produce would be 5ft x 3ft plus I’m tight for space in my unit 🙂

    Hi Wayne

After a little research I can help you part of the way with the temperature, in not sure if it changes with different brands of transfer paper, and welcome to the world of textiles, you may want to look at soft home furnishing as it’s a growing market

Thanks Graham. Can I ask if you do any large sublimation yourself or what’s your game?

      Hi Graham.

      1st flag produced today.

Your temp photo of 200 degrees was spot on and I’ve mastered the speed settings 😁

Onwards and upwards they say 🚀

PS I’d like to ask if you could send me over a Berger product brochures for all things textile.

      Cheers
