I’m a big fan of the Keencut and used it here
https://www.uksignboards.com/viewtopic.php?t=44352Pros are:-
Dust free Operation.
Cuts composite without leaving a sharp edge (no need to debur after cutting)
Simple safe operation
The V groove attachment is great for making up trays and simple folded panelsDownside:-
You need sufficient head height to install the bigger version (wouldn’t fit in a modern house with an eight foot ceiling)
Has a tendency to curve composite when cutting smallish panels.
Even the largest version will only cut up to 2.1M so unable to cut a 2.5M board length waysOverall I wouldn’t be without mine now. I used a table saw in the past which created loads of dust and was scary.

:lol1: funny enough, i know what you mean by this… those days are well behind me, but many an eventfull time we had when we just got our flip table saw. 😳

Same as Phill for me, pros & cons but wouldn’t be without it.
Makes cutting anything a breeze, almost no effort required and nice clean cuts every time. -
my question is, how well does it cut thick foamx like 5 and 10mm? is it good quality edge at perfect 90deg?
-
Dave,
Perfect edge with 90 degree cut, 5mm you can cut in one single pass if you want to, I prefer to cut in two passes.
10mm needs 3 to 4 passes, but it’s much easier than using a straight edge and a stanley knife.

well we have several Javelins, we struggle with 5mm edge quality.. do use stanley blades?
-
I also have a Javelin, which I still use occasionally. Never had a problem with the edge quality, especially not on 5mm. Standard stanley blades.
Are you putting too much pressure on it when cutting? Is the blade holder loose? How many times do you score before it cuts through? -
Dave I use a Javelin cutter and had the same problem and was told it was the speed you cut at. I now cut a lot slower and find that I get a much cleaner cut no fracturing at all and lovely edge even 10mm Foamex. So less speed when running the blade across the sheet.

We have an old Excalibur and find the slow cut gives a far better finished edge too.

Same with mine…’if you’re in a hurry, don’t rush’ as me auld granny used say! 🙂
