I dont know if you have an assistant, we have and like to play “see how high jenny will jump” you just need to creep up lightly behind them and put your finger close to a bare bit of skin and just watch the result. This provides hours of fun and allows your assistant to gain an enormous amount of wellbeing, knowing that they’ve helped make your day become much happier!

I blame it on the dry winter air here.
We have an aerosol product called Static Guard.
You spray it on yer pantyhose so yer skirt doesn’t stick.
    😳
I wonder if you could spray it onto your carpet/ office furniture?
I have heard that computers and such should not be kept in a carpeted room.
I always put fabric softener in the final rinse when doing my laundry.
But I still get shocked in my truck at this time of year.
    Static really affects us painters.
I have had it suck the paint right out of my brush!
Lots of folks rub their substrates with commercial fabric softener sheets.
Dunno about trouble from residue tho.
Hey, at least you can say you’ve had a shocking experience!
    Love…..jill

Jill, dry air or lack of moisture is a prime cause of static and one of the first things you can address cheaply by putting in an air humidifier, they range in price from £50 to £000s depending on the type and size of premises. It gets worse in the winter months because people have heating on which dries the air out & the heating needs to be high in the UK. First day of spring over here and its friggin freezing!
