Hi all can you tell me if it is possible to print on both sides of static cling. I have a customer driving instructor who wants to give out P plates to successful students he wants one side red the other green. Any suggestions welcome.
    thanks Mike 😀

I am sure that the quick answer is yes as the static cling I use is the same both sides.
Apart from usual problem of alignment that you have with any double sided print you also have to remember that cling needs a liner to go through the printer as it is to thin on its own, so you would need to print side one remove liner and attach other side then align then print.

Why do you need to print on both sides, just print on clear self cling in reverse, overlay and overlay again, job done I think.

Hi Mike, what machine are you using to print this ?

If our using an Edge and it is a clear product you do not need to print on both sides because if you print your design in reverse you will be able to see this from one side then just print as per normal on top of your base colour and you will see this from the other side, hope that makes sense.

    Mike,

did an Avery course today, and I spoke to the Avery guru about your question.

Basically, wherever the print is on static cling material, it will no longer have static cling capabilities in that area.

So, to print 75% of the area on both sides of a white cling material, will leave it with only 25% cling capabilities.

The most common cling printing is on one side with all the print, leaving the cling side free of any print at all, and leaving it with maximum cling ability.

    Hope that makes sense. 😕

Hi Mike, sorry for the delay in getting back to you, but Shane has said what I was trying to say, just print on one side then overprint, if you are using an Edge you can print white in between to give you a good seperation.

    Regards
