    Almost bang on!
The actual difference is £10.00 and an ounce of common sense, 🙄 sadly lacking in business these days. 😥

I was charged by (Name & shame company on envelope) this company for courier service for something that could have been put in a small jiffy bag with a first class stamp.

Rob, they are Tamtorque driver bits total value £6.63 and the carriage was £11.40. (hot) (:) (chat.) 🙄

I think I need a stiff drink! *drink*

similar thing happened to me this week…….

I wanted to order 10 small plastic filters for one of our machines @ £3.30 each inc vat…..I was then told that there was a minimum order value of £50.

I begrudgingly bumped the order up with some more items to reach the minimum order value to then be told that carriage was £50.00 for standard service (2-3 days) or £150.00 for next day

so in order to get the ten little filters (£33.00) which would have rattled round in an A5 jiffy bag it was going to cost me upward of a hundred quid.

I’m looking elsewhere without much success at the minute

Cambridge to Newcastle Martin…not even different countries.

Their idea of a compromise was that we could send our own courier to pick these up but I kid you not when I say that these items could have been put in the post for a couple of quid in a normal envelope

I’d call trading standards dude. a pallet by freight (65kg yank Chrysler gearbox) to Germany from here has cost me less than £150 in the past year!

what they’re trying to charge is wholly disproportionate to what it should be. for that money you could probably bulk import from china!

plenty of agents who’ll set up the deal to either source them or get them made and imported! chances are that they come from china anyways.

I did have someone try to charge me £15 (inc vat) to courier an adjustable bolt, i asked them to simply 1st class it in a jiffy but it wasn’t possible…. until I spoke to a manager at least. cost me £2.50 then!
