We are looking to carry out a partial wrap on a Combo van. It will include a large area which is to contain a random pattern with minimum pixelation. We have checked out Istockphoto and Dreamstime and can’t put our finger on what we need. Would we be better to buy a CD containing fills specifically for large format digital printing and does anyone have first hand experience of using such a product? Any help much appreciated

no.. we don’t have any pattern CD’s… i use both of those sites and use a hi-res camera to make any of our own patterns.

Have you got anything in mind?

Try doing some gradient fills in Photoshop with the difference option selected. Makes some nice backgrounds.

Or search for abstract images on the stock sites.

Don’t know if this site is any help but you can down load up to 20 files a day free of charge or buy the CD http://www.mayang.com/textures/

There are quit a lot of pre done fills in corel, and are editable, I have a high res texture disc from ingram. bought it years ago, but never used it!

What sort of theme are you looking for?

Thanks for the tips. Peter it is the type of fills which are in Corel we are looking for. How large have you scaled them up before and what were the results?

to be honest I have never printed them, from corel, but the texture fills should give you good quality at large sizes, I just published one to PDF and dropped it into signlab, the resolution was fine.
