    Hi George,

I’d also be interested to know other peoples views on this subject.

We’re in the market for a printer right now, and I too would like to be able to print onto garment film and get good vibrant colours.

The solvent/eco solvent samples I’ve received from various suppliers tend to look ‘washed out’.

    Regards,

    Phil

    Hello George.

I’m using colour plus by lotus transfers internation. They supply a large format of 500 mm and rolls of 25 metres. They sell per meter also. (they do supply for a special size for Summa DC3 and Gerber Edge if you ask for it)

The color fastnest is excellent, and it is designed for solvent pigment inks. I use the roland Versacamm SP 540 V using eco solvent inks to print mine, and the results are great. The versacamm’s default colour file for transfer medium is used, and although there’s a little colour difference in some of the violet and indego range, it still looks the part. (I’m not sure if the colour difference is due to the colour profile, or the scanning process) but I do the comparisons with the original artwork which isn’t created on pc. (I prefer to paint my designs on acid free artpaper)

They also supply other varieties called colorprint xtra which isn’t as flexible and has a matt finish. And another that is designed for the lycra and polyester/ployblends (I can’t speak for these products as I don’t use them)

They also manufacture a flockprint which I’ll be looking into when I make my next order.

I’d like to hear what other printers are using in there systems.
