Horrible stuff to work with 😉

What we’ve done with some degree of success is to App tape the film and spray down with water.
    And leave it.
Then return the following day and hey presto!

In some circumstances yes, it comes away cleanly.
That said it doesnt always work – but its worth trying for the sake of some app tape.

do a video search George, some use water and a dustbin liner, has the same effect. Amazes me how water gets through the film and softens the adhesive.

It’s not hard at all, labour intensive but charge well as everyone does.

Get yourself a 6 inch triumph scraper, if your lucky the film "may" come off in one piece then use the triumph to scrape Majority of the glue off then a good glue remover or 100% isopropyl to get residue.

The process of sweating the film off does work but it’s long. If you think about the amount of tape and putting it on all the windows plus traveling back and forward that day then it usually works out as a long way for a short cut. The only time we ever sweat film off is on saloon/coupe cars where access is tight to ensure all the glue has gone.

As a rule of thumb, we charge 50% of the install cost for removal so if the new film is £1000 (or would be if it was getting fitted) then removal would be £500.

you could try ImagePerfectâ„¢ Vinyl Remover Pro I know it works with vinyl graphics can’t see why it might not work for tint films

take a good look as film which comes off easily often leaves a layer of adhesive which may at first not be seen.
Still use a scraper and isoproponyl to check if any residue.
If film is stuck hard then using a sharp knife it can be scored into 6" wide strips which are easier to remove.

I charge by the hour at £30/hour, as you never know if its goingto be 5 mins or hours.
