i think hp do windows drivers for it, that will get you going

Yeah your right, but looking for more control over colour, etc.

check out the Shiraz RIP.. might do that printer but i know there is a few HP’s work well with it.

Colour control is very good with it

Pretty familiar with most rips.

Hi John, Have you manage to get a RIP yet?

If not I’ve got Onyx Rip Centre v6.0 which I was using with an Encad Novajet 630. It has drivers for lots of HP designjet printers including HP 5500 series. It comes with a usb dongle.
