  • So how was your weekend then?

Posted by Mike Grant on June 22, 2008 at 6:23 pm

This was the first full weekend I have had off since Christmas. I was going to go to Pembroke to see the Tall Ships but it rained like hell all day so had a lazy day surfing the net and designing a flier for the wife’s new business.
Watched Genisis When in Rome DVD nice and loud in Dolby surround sound 😎
Then today I made the choice not to go to Pembroke again as the trees were horizontal outside 😮 No rain but just too windy. So cleaned the house from top to bottom to stay in the missus good books 🙄 Done some more work on the fliers, I never seem to be satisfied with layouts and am forever tweeking things 🙄 Next job is the fish tank but my energy levels are a bit low for that :lol1:

So all in all a very lazy weekend, so I am not complaining.

What you lot been up to then!

Hi Mike, glad you’ve been busy on your weekend off.

I went up three mountains yesterday and spent today in the attic sorting it out.

Walked a few miles tonight to stretch the legs.

You must be a Genesis fan then?…..me too, seen them quite a few times, you?

    *rofl*

    Good on you Mike.

My garage is a mess since the builders finished using it for a workshop, but I managed to avoid cleaning it up both yesterday and today.

Always remember; hard work pays off tomorrow, but laziness pays off today. 😀

The usual park, lego, drawing, making, playdough, park, lego etc. (with my 4 yr old)

Oh yes, and with both evenings spent making 50 site boards for Monday morning. My wife hates me.

Yesterday I spent time at work trying to set up an old PC to drive my plotter and to fileshare across a network.

Today we spent the afternoon/evening at a Barbeque for my Nephews 21st. We just finished cooking when the rain came on,.. so that was well timed.

At work yesterday. Today I took my Dad for a belated Fathers Day round of golf. I must admit, it was the worse game I have ever played 🙁
My score was nearer to the rollover Jackpot value of the Lottery.

I spent yesterday wandering Glasgow for hours looking for a birthday present for my mother inlaw 😕 Today was her birthday so were all out for a family dinner. 🙄

Saw them half a dozen times in the 70’s, much prefer their early stuff up until Hackett left, but I must admit I did enjoy the DVD (Fathers day prezzy from my son)

Thats bad hayfever mate. What causes it?

Why wife gets it triggered by perfume or aftershave.

    I feel for ya.

I actually took this weekend off 🙂 I slept in until 9:45am Saturday morning, surfed the net till lunch, went out with the wife and kids in the arvo for a couple of hours, then had mexican for tea. 😛

My tenants moved out of a rental property I have down the road, so on Sunday we went down and checked it out – they’ve destroyed the hot plates that were new when they moved in 6 months ago, and damaged the Oven, also new 6 months ago, and they must have had kids swinging from the ceiling fans because the blades where bent…. so spent sunday shopping for new appliances….. spending money I don’t have spare…. 👿

The mother in law shouted lunch so it was not all bad :lol1: then had a family get together last night at my parents, ate way too much of my mums pork roast, then went home and complained about feeling full because of all the food my wife let me eat 😳

Was a good day Marcella, last Saturday we did an event called The Gower Gallop and what a difference…..20 miles in the blazing sun wearing shorts and t’s.

My sons first challenge walk too and he loved it 😀

    Once again Neil :appl:

So, is this why I look like such a ‘pastey face’ and feel like death warmed up most of the time? The fact that, for example, you (who looks fighting fit) and Marcella (ditto) do some serious exercise on a regular basis, and I, on the contrary, do not.

ps what beach is that behind you?

yeah, it’s torture. I did 22 miles 3 weeks ago in 25 degree heat and I was fine until I hit the 20 mile mark, then my feet were on fire and had badly blistered. Think it was purely the heat that did it. Mind you, still managed to deviate off my original route and do a small climb up to a trig point at the end. Just for fun. :lol1:
I’m feeling guilty now ………… only done a couple of walks in the last 7 days. No more than 8 miles at a time 😳 😳 😳
I’ll head out tonight for a wander anyway and get back into harness……. don’t like sitting on my backside for too long now.

    How old is your son?
I’ve managed to get Emily out on a few walks, she did Ben Lomond with me (although she moaned!!!!! But was gobsmacked once she got to the top!) but she’d rather sit on MSN talking to her boyfriend! 🙄

I’ve be going around the clock this week. Got two wraps to do print prep install on top of all the other work we have on.

I wanted to start printing this earlier today but we had about 6 retractor orders along with digital mounted prints I only just started.

1 metre down 24 to go.

    Anyone else awake?

Yeh, it’s always a relief to take your boots off and the 2 pairs of socks…

Kris is 18 and he does his fair share of MSN’ing.

Gareth, you’ve probably got your hands full with the youngster….I had a break between 23 & 33 on the exercise front, but do quite a bit now. Helps de-stress a little too (chat.)

Just got the results of the walk. Came 2nd out of 21 in our category and 3rd overall out of 33 teams.

Not bad for 4 old men!
