NO longer trading and have been taken over by Ashby signs, just called about a product I got from SMP last week to be spoken to by the rudest Women ever!!! Due to the facT the phone numbers were meant to be changed over today from them to Ashby!!
Any way in the long run the better as Ashby signs are one of the best companies to deal with.

Not sure I agree with you Richard, time will tell.
I use to use SMP for some bits things & never had a problem with anything I ordered, mainly small stuff though.
While I agree that Ashby are a good company to deal with they do tend to be on the pricey side. I can see the prices going up for a lot of the stuff that I use to buy from SMP which won’t be such a good thing for me.

Martin it was more a moan at the way I was spoken to, its probably to do with the person I spoke to may have lost their job.

    Dear Richard Urquhart

it was your rudeness that prompted any negative attitude as you expected to be told that we were closing the business a week before any of us actually knew we were being made redundant. In fact we only found out that we were being made redundant on Monday the 23rd. Perhaps You should learn to think before the words actually come out of your mouth. 5 people have lost there jobs some with Mortgages and kids.

Daniel, it was not you I spoke to so how are you so sure what came out my mouth?
I feel for those that have lost their jobs, however i can assure you that it was the way I was spoken too that started this, you have no idea why I called or what it was regarding, maybe you should learn to think before you comment!! I have been in business 20 years so maybe its not how I talk to my customers its the way I was spoken too, may be SMP would not need to make any staff redundant, or may be that was part of the reason due to the way they talk to their customers, dont slag me off on here call me like I tried to call you!!! 07958654343
