  • site boards – advice please?

    Hi

We are putting together a quote for 30ft x 3ft site board, one colour vinyl text. Only needs to be up till the end of May, have a few questions we are hoping you can help us with,

    – for the amount of time it is going to be up, will 3mm forrex be suitable, or would you go for a thicker board, 5mm?

    – can anyone help us with how long they think it would take to put up the 3 boards? boards are to be mounted onto a wooden hoarding. Not put anything up of this size before, and we tend to underestimate the time it takes to actually put signs up.

Going to provide a quote for the boards non-fitted and fitted.

    Thanks for any assistance

    Kate 🙂

I would go for the thicker board for the sake of an extra few quid.

Foamex into wood is an easy fit and if it’s solid wood it’s going on
ie, not slats I would pre drill the holes.

Fitting depends how high it’s going, I would have that up in around an hour tops.
that’s with 2 people. As you haven’t done anything this large over estimate a tad. Don’t forget travel ling time as well.

If in 3 sections, fit middle section first and get dead straight then butt
    other panels up to it.

    Hope this helps 😀

As an additional tip – if you’re doing it in foam. Have all of the screw positions pre-marked.

Actually, what I normally do is screw ALL of the screws & caps (1/2) into the boards before I leave to go on site, just a mm or so showing at the rear. Then pop them in the van. When you get on site all the screws are already in the correct place, complete with cap bottoms. It makes for very speedy installations with no delays.
