Silvering (using ImagePerfect and matched laminate)
I have recently started using 1600mm ImagePerfect and matched Matte Laminate but I am getting really bad silvering, I have never had this problem before but I have adjusted the pressure on our Easymount cold laminater (increasing and decreasing) but I just can’t get it to go.
I think I’m going to have swap laminates the way things are going but just thought I’d try here in case this was something anybody else had experienced?

I often get silvering with my cold roller but it usually dissapears within a few hours and 24 hours later you will be wondering what you were worried about. 😀

I have just switched to the matching ip laminate for the 1st time last week. Have to say I thought exactly the same thing about the gloss.
Did a long run today so will see how that looks in the morning.
I have recently been switching back to ip products, I have called the supplier to note that I feel the products seem to be lacking strength in the tack, ie it doesn’t seem to harden off very quickly at all! Have you noticed this at all?

was told today Spandex changed their adhesive and having problems with it. Worth a call into the office to ask, I have 50m to fit tomorrow!

Checked my run this morning and yes the silvering seems to be gone!

Hi Guys,
i use IP products and have been having problems with tack, didnt get any joy from spanish office and have switched away. Silvering on the laminate should disappear over night, but we have had problems with vinyl fitted dry coming away from the substrate!Goodluck

We are suffering very much the same problems, especially with the bubble free version!
Guess I should look at alternatives until the problem is solved!

Which ip material are we talking about just bought a ten meter rap kit for tomorrow s job best test it first ??
Not had any silvering probs but we laminate warm 40 deg

We cold laminate, but in warm office conditions!
First time I have used this 5 year clear as a over laminate, I didn’t think the tac was that great on this, neither the matching 5 year poly white vinyl, in standard adhesive & particularly bubble free adhesive!

Ok tell me more about the ip glue issues.
My lad has just rang to say the wrap laminate has described as water marks and ruins the print. Its the one with the clear backing -
I never liked the Imageperfect "backup and support" when things go wrong, interested to see what comes of this as changing an adhesive to me is like changing the product code!
