Signlab fonts alternative list
Hey guys
I understand that you can’t convert signlab vef fonts to ttf and from what i believe, signlab fonts are pretty much copies of other fonts.
So, does anyone have a list of what the original font would be so I can design in illustrator on a mac and match the fonts used in the design?
i.e 3romanb would be arial bold

I have a wall chart supplied along with (I believe) SL 9.1, when I upgraded. This shows the names of all the VEF fonts, but not the ones with a ‘balloon’ next to them, and I wonder if these came from another programme, such as Corel.
Mostly you can more or less work out the original from the abbreviated name, except the likes of the ‘HEAVY’ group, which are actually the Helvetica family!
I believe the VEF fonts are converted to allow them to cut better than the original, but I heard that many years ago, and could be wrong.
