It’s very cheap at £100, but if it is ES composer then it’s worth £625 new not £1000 as the guy says. Assuming also that it’s the latest version. It is also a very basic program & is quite limited. But well worth a ton 🙂

and no shadows and fills either !
Its absolute terrible value for money when you can do this and more in Coreldraw.
I (personally) wouldn’t give him the starting price of £100 for it.
I’d put the money to buying Coreldraw 11

if it is with dongle etc it is a good platform to start building modules…
    for £100 anyway… 😉

ES composer is not modular, therefore you can’t add extra features to it. You would however get the retail price in discount if you upgraded it to a full blown Signlab package. So in theory £625 off Signlab, for an outlay of £100 (+) There certainly wouldn’t be a problem with upgrading it.

Very true, if Cadlink will let you upgrade on a second user program / dongle, the (not too much) higher package Signlab stuff is superb.
So if you bought the dongle for £100, its a very cheap way to the upgrade route , then be very cheeky and ask for 40% discount as an existing customer. 😉 😉

BTW, I was (just) told indirectly, by the dealer who sold me the ES Composer a few months ago, that I was not entitled to any discount on Composer although I was an existing Cadlink customer and had already bought E6 off them, because it wasn’t in the E6 package any discount had to be the same package, i.e discount only on two( or more) purchases of E6 or two or more purchases of the other tripe.

It’s quite strange how Cadlinks view seems to differ!
and upgraded me from ES Composer to E6 Assistant at no extra cost!

So how can you add accuscan to it ( ES Composer) then?
    Now this is getting confusing!!

(edit) ES composer comes with b & w accuscan.

We very rarely sell it to be honest, last time I used it you didn’t even have autokerning, so you used to get some very strange letter spacing 🙄

The other thing about it is, whilst you would get £625 off a Signlab package, it is only a benefit to somebody who had no sign cutting package at all. Crossgrading to Signlab would almost certainly be cheaper for anybody that already had some software.

This is becoming a hot topic! Have never known ES composer to generate so much interest 😆

I starter off with ES Composer and whilst it does not have an all singing all dancing cast it is a fully functioning program.

Lets be honest if we cant use a basic program and get decent results from our work should we be saying we can design signs? I started with a brush in my hand and it all came out of my head, no shadows or other distortion tools.

ES Composer can do arcs and has all the tools you need to draw complete designs, costs you time and a bit of grey matter but do we all want a package that does everything for us? Takes away a bit of the individual spirit if you ask me.

I still agree it is vastly overpriced and should have modular upgrades for those who want to upgrade. When you start out it costs enough without being sold something that you basically have to throw away after a year or so. What is worse I was sent a demo disk before buying and the demo was real all bells and whistles demo package.

Hi Brian, there was no accuscan with mine, the button is there but everytime you try to use it theres a message box pops up ‘unable to edit’
    any thoughts?
    Cheers

Errrm is the image you are clicking on b & w?

    There are 4 ES products..

    ES Shorcut
    ES Lite
    ES Shortcut Plus
    ES Composer

Is yours definitely Composer? I am sure it must be otherwise it wouldn’t have the vectorising button.

Hi Brian , this is all I get bitmap, jpeg black and white.
It doesn’t matter anymore as I don’t use composer now.
But I’ve tried and couldn’t get accuscan to work at all.
    it works perfect in E6

    Cheers
