SIGNJOE! He’s still here……
Hi All,
I’ve been looking in now and then recently but not posting a lot.
Anyway …phone rings today and it’s Mikethesign………
After a good auld chat he said I should post the odd time and keep in touch with what’s going on.
Anyway some of you will know the reason for my abscence ( I’ve started another business with a couple of mates).
We’ve started a window/conservatory manufacturing company (upvc) and if some of you think the learning curve is steep in signmaking you should try dealing with building regs etc.
We’re in the process of doing a new shopfront at the moment so I may even post a pic when it’s done in the next couple of weeks.
Oh and rest assured, It’s the same as the sign business in many respects…..
-fitters who want you do everything t make their lives easy
– builders who order 1500 quids of doors “urgent” then you don’t see them for 6 weeks
-Suppliers who send the wrong stuff – don’t get me started on this one!
-Deliveries that don’t turn upAND the best till last…
Customers who expect to get a set of french doors, a front door, and four windows for “I thought it’d be about 600 pounds”!!!!! 😆 😆 😆Just goes to show they’re not just buying signs 😮
As a ps:
If you think you get a lot of telesales calls from double glazing companie at home, try opening up in that biz – you’ll get 5 or 6 calls a day from suppliers companies – it’s a bloody nightmare.Anyway it gives me the luxury of weeding out the good sign jobs – the cutters are still running happily in our new 6000sq ft unit.
I still love the sign biz.
You can’t get it out of your blood 🙄
Cheers
Joe
