SIGNGO Software
I have just downloaded the Signgo software, and i have to admit at first glance it looks pritty good. It looks like it is a mixture between signlab and Coreldraw. and you can also use with digital printers. At the moment i have downloaded it for a trail period of 30 Days, but i was wondering whether anybody else has it or has come across it, and might have comments about it(good or bad)please.

Jim I’m gonna give it a go also – looks quite good so far although I’ve not tried an actual job on it yet – seems quite up to date with features – also most tools seem to be easy to hand and familiar if you worked with corel.
add. . . My first point is maybe the text handling is a bit clumsy o.k. if you’re doing just single lines of text but not if you need to change fonts on the fly or do long changeable text entry. (or perhaps its just me – you can right click the text box and adjust the properties there, I’m not a great fan of text boxes I’d rather just click and type)
p.s. anyone else want to try?. . .

Paul i have found the same with the fonts, but you dont need to use the text box, just click on the letter T on the left , the bring it over to the page and double click like you would with Signlab. as far the cutting goes i have tryed this and it is good as well. will keep you updated. it is worth a go.

Cheers Jim – just shows, I never tried double click. I was hoping not to like this programme too much as I’ve spent too much money recently but it looks a winner to me, especially as the price compared to the opposition seems so reasonable for what it does. – Corel can be o.k. but doesn’t interface too easily at the cutting stage.
(Also the import files option seems to work well and the programme is very stable) -

Lorraine you probably know this already but there is a list of supported cutters on the site or have tried contacting them?
Mind you with the price of it – may be cheaper to get a cutter than buy the more expensive options. -

I have to say iam hooked with this software, and i can’t beleave the price for what you get. and it is so user friendly. i would recommend it to anybody.

Lorraine, I work for Wissen UK, the authors of SignGo. Please let me know what cutter you have and we’ll try to get it supported in SignGo.

Hi Lorraine,
SignGo includes DMPL and HPGL drivers for the D520 which should drive your D500. You’ll just need to check whether your machine is configured for the DMPL or HPGL language. If you’re driving it from Flexi check which language is being used and match it in SignGo. You’ll also need to know which port is in use. If it’s a serial (COM) port you’ll also need to match the communication parameters (baud rate, data bits etc.).
You can add a new driver to SignGo simply by choosing "Add and remove cutters" from the SignGo program group.

Its a really useful program and has a very very good cutter menu that enables you to do just about anything as many times as you want to. Brian 🙂

Well thats it – I’ve registered my Signgo (thank god for credit cards) hopefully we can get a little section going – this one? For any queries, tips, wish list, etc for Signgo users.

I agree paul, Ihave still got 23 days until the credit card will be used. I think that would be a good idea about the section not just for one particular soft ware though.

I am new to Sign software, being mainly a print person. I bought a copy of Signgo Lite for £70 or so & I think it is great. However I only use it for cutting. I think the actual design tools are not too good. I do everything in CorelDraw & export as AI files which Signgo can import okay. It keeps the colour separation correct & it’s a simple but good interface to the cutter. It’s great value.

Hi Mick – another print person like myself – I too was familiar with C/draw and have recently got into signgo – the full programe is brill and much more vinyl friendly.

Didn’t really have enough time to really try it out within the 30 days so I’ve just bought the licence. 😀
