Just been scanning the boards and found a reference to this software.

The big question is, is it any good, has anyone here any experiance of it.

I realise you get what you pay for but it doesn’t stop you wondering especially as a
    start up!

    Peter,

Download for a free 30 day trial and try it out, I’ve tried it as a mater of interest and found it very good. At the time i was using Flexisign, if i ever started up on my own i’d buy SignGo as i think it’s excellent VFM

    I’m sure timmy uses SignGo.

If you type SignGo into the search tool you’ll see quite a few thoughts on it.

It is certainly cheaper than SignLab! Blimey, $89 for the lite version! 😮

    Hiya Magpie,
I use Signgo (Light) for almost all of my work and I also have two other very expensive software packages available to use. There are limitations in the light version but for the money it costs I still can’t beleive what it does! As Lorraine says give it a go for 30 days on the free trial and if you decide to buy, your leicense is emailed to you soon after you complete your online order….

Thanks for getting back everyone. Am I correct in thinking that the main features likely to
be missing from this software are those for creating artwork and perhaps tiling utilities.
If so then I should be able to compensate for that by using Illustrator to create the artwork,
which SignGo will accept in .ai version 4 format.

Lorraine I think it was one of your posts that put me onto this, so a thankyou goes to
    you for that.

    Cheers all.

Have a look at the link below, it shows the difference between the Lite and full version…

    Hi Timmy,

I just had a look at that looks really good, and to think I am probably into CADlink for about £5000 over the years with two working dongles E6 etc.
I wonder if it crashes as ofte as Signlab E6 does anyone know, because I tell you I am really getting a bit peed off with Signlabs unstability and for £250 may well invest in Signgo myself. Is it dogled incidently i.e.can you load it on two machines.

You know it is the same with embroidery software I use a package from the States for about $1200 that will do everything £6 to £8000 (not a misprint) packages they try to sell you overhere.

i always thought signlab 4.95 was the most stable. other than a few fancy tricks with 5, it was the vinyl mans dream package.
everything else from 5 onwards cators for the printing market.
they should split it up… all vinyl… all printing or an option of both.
we have 5 registered signlabs.. almost 10 grands worth. i would think much bigger discounst should be brought in for second time buyers.
not for us.. we were none the wiser & the rep took us for what we knew at the time.. (nothing 😮 ) we took it bent over. 🙁
software freezing can loss you money big time if it repeatedly does it.
god knows many times ive worked for hours, forgetting to update save and the package crashes! (these crashes were not signlabs fault though) we had a virus, without knowing.

I know what you mean about salesmen.
I just bought e6 the full bifta and to be perfectly honest thanks to here the registration fee has already paid for itself.
THANKS to MIKE and BRIAN saved myself £££££’s almost half of what someone else quoted. I was seriously thinking of financing it the first quote I got.
    Hasn’t crashed with me yet.
Then again with some of the systems that I have worked with in the past (at work) I tend to make a couple of changes to things and then ctrl + s automatically. e6 has an autosave function which I haven’t switched on or tried.
My mouse doesn’t seem to be supported in it though as my acceleration doesn’t seem to work in the programme.

Back to salesmen I don’t mind paying money for things buisness has got to be allowed to make a profit or it ceases to be one, but I HATE being fleeced it leaves a bitter taste.

But I now know to ask a little more the next time and they will be last on the list when I go shopping for stuff again.

    Robert,

I agree with you on that 4.95 also had a very good rip which I used on my CJ70 on the First vinyl material for print and cut. It’s main advantage was that you could load ICC profiles (FIRST have an ICC profile), and it was very good. Then with the release of 5 they introduced Photoprint and dropped the facility to load ICC profiles (why?). They tried to improve this with e6 but it is still not good and still cannot load profiles.

I must say e6 has some very good features and I would not like to go back to 5, for example polling the plotter and getting a visulisation on the screen what size vinyl you have loaded, you can then postion the object to be cut, repeat, weed border etc. Having said that there is no getting away from it, the package is unstable even with the latest builds loaded.

Salesman, their logo should be ‘Lies and more damn lies’ sorry but that is what I have found especially with my latest aquisition, a thermal printer that just would not do what it said on the box and consequently has gone back because I will not stand for it, unlike some people in this game have obviously done from past posts I have read.

    Gordon,

Take my advise with e6 put that autosave function on or keep hitting Ctl.C or it will all end in tears believe me, and when it does don’t take it out on your poor old PC, it’s only a machine you know.

Biddest fib I had from a salesman must have been in 98 whe I bought my CJ-70 and FIRST Polermeric system from B & P, he catagourically told me within 6 months all solvent inks would be banned from use in the EEC, did’nt happen did it!

I am using the Lite version Allan and it doesn’t crash. To be honest can’t find anything to relly moan about. Its funny I have had the software about a year and a half now and whilst looking at the Signgo website to look up the info for the thread I discovered the merge script tool so I have got another tool to play with now…..

Timmy, (is Mallet really your second name)

Almost seems too good to be true, it certainly looks like it delivers, I see it is a Wilcom product, that explains it. They make damn good embroidery software as well. In fact they do an absolutely great little program for resizing, accurately viewing and transporting embroidery designs called EMBroidery. It is only about £27 they encourage you to give your customers a copy so they can accurately view there designs. This is apart from their main digitising software which is second to none. in fact coincidently I was speaking to my embroidery machine engineer only Friday and he services Toyota machines which come with a font package which he recons is rubbish and advises his customers to buy Wilcom.

When I was doing CAD designing they also had a great CAD software package I nearly bought but wimped out and went with flow with AutoCad, their’s was better, great company, CADlink beware.
