Signblazer imports of Impact Vehicle Outlines
Posted by Simon Prior on April 18, 2012 at 9:08 amHi, I don’t know if anyone can help me here. I’m using Signblazer which is very basic sign software. Have just got the new imapact vehicle outlines from Impact but when I import them in to signblazer the sizing is off by about 100mm over a distance of about 1300 mm. Has anyone had this problem and been able to fix it, or have any ideas how to resolve it. Thanks

If you phone Brian at Impact he will probably sort it for you right away. Very helpful so worth a call.

I started off using sign blazer and found it a nightmare to import into, eventually i found out there is a technical problem with it as regards importing and cant be fixed. I would say change your software, would highly recommend vinylmaster, its great value for money and has alot of feature sign blazer doesn’t. The basic package is the one i use.

hi brian
thanks for that info, yeah I’m pretty fed up with it, you can’t even do drop shadows with it! but can’t afford signlab at the moment. I will look into that software you recommend. Thank you very much, best regards, Simon -
Simon, Brian is using the lite version although I thought he would have been better off buying the Pro version from the start.
You can download a trial version to see how you get on with it & if you order a demo CD you will get all the tutorials as well although I think a lot of them are on the tube now anyway so you could just have a look at them on there to see what you think. They do offer discounts for people crossing over from other software but not sure which packages so you would need to check the website.

Hi Brian, thanks for that, It certainly seems a fantastic bit of software with loads of features, I’ve ordered the trial version so will be checking it out shortly. Thinking the expert version might be the one to go for, becauase I’m inevitably going to want my software to handle print and cut which pro doesn’t do. Cheers…

Simon, if you have the money then VMX is definitely the version to go for. even if you don’t have a printer yourself you still need to be able to produce print ready artwork to send to a trade printer. There is obviously other software available but just from my own experience I found it easy to learn, there are over 100 video tutorials which help the learning process. The guys at future have done a fantastic job as far as I am concerned.

I had a quick look at the site and looked at a few You Tube video tutorials, must admit I’m quit impressed too.

It was the best option for me at the time Alan, I had been running inspire pro (pre flexi) on a windows 98 machine, machine had been repaired a few times lol but finally gave up & I couldn’t get the spares I needed.
Looked at what was available & for my needs at the time it was the best option all round.
I did try a few programs but I found that to be the easiest for me to learn personally. I found the video tutorials a great help, I know programs such as corel have a lot of video type support on the tube & other places but because these came with it there was no searching about looking for what I wanted. The support from Future Corps has been brilliant as well, when I have had a problem a quick email & you get a comprehensive reply & they will also arrange to log on to your system to show you if that is required.

Looks good, what sort of money is the pro version, the web is in $ (Australian)

Just did a quick currency conversion & it works out to £241 33 for the Pro version. The website has downloadable demo versions of all 3, lite, pro & expert.

Alan, I’ve been on the guys at future corp who make vinyl master and this month they are starting a further payment option, 147 dollars a month for 12 months ( or something like that) which seems a good option for me!
