    this !

5×3 ft, 10mm pvc board, flood coated in black oracle 651 – 3 panels with 10mm overlap-, i even did it dry… first for me !

red text applied with a mist of app fluid, shadow too (have since rectified the faulty shadow in the pic !), white road runners and dodge ram trucks were my own vectored images,

i was initialy worried how red would stand out on black, but even from 10 ft away it’s legible !

used two real handy tips on this job,

first was the vectorisation of the cars and trucks, handy tip from another forum got me going there, turn a bitmap into a one bit lineart image, trace with corel trace as ‘clipart’, and save ! 2 minute job ! takes longer to find a decent clean and uncluttered image than it does to make and cut,

secondly was that real cool tip from here the other dy, usung builder chalk to highlight the weed lines on white vinyl, saved me at least 20 mins by my reckoning ! cheers !

Kinda difficult to see it properly on your pic, but what I can see looks good!

To steal your heading -‘Today I’ve mostly been doing…..’ skiving and sitting in the scorching sun! It’s a blinding hot day up here today so I’ve been bathing my two dogs outside instead of working! 😳

I like the car vectors, bit hard to see/read the rest as said…

Sounds good to me Marcella, sun bathing that is, washing the pets sounds like hard work.. 😕

thanks both ! the text is really a whole lot clearer in the flesh, the room had full sunlght burning thu the window when i took the pic, tween camera and the board, hence the bleached fuzzy photo !!

i decided to go with the red on black scheme the customer wanted, figured that if it didnt look clear enuf he’d have to pay for some shadow on the small text to make it clearer,

done now anyways ! he’s now just sprung it on me that he’ll collect wed’s pm, and that he also now wants some dry wipe boards made, couldn’t tell me when the supplier was still open could he !!?!?!!!

Marcella, (cool name btw !) almost went down the beach myself today, its only a nice relaxing hour and a half’s bike ride thru the lanes and across the marsh levels from here !!! i think i’m starting to get serious about this sign lark, i mean, fancy putting work before free time, something wrong with me! !!

Would that be by push bike or one with an engine!

Got my mother to blame for the name that’s who I’m named after. It’s italian I believe…….. but I think the only latin thing about me is my temper!!! 😀

nowt wrong with ‘Marcella’, wasn’t there a character of your namesake in pulp fiction ? i don’t imagine for a second that you’re into the same scenes, but a cool name in my book !!

hour and a half to the beach ?? push bike !! 15 mins by car, can do it in a hour if i have to, otherwise 1 1/2 to 2hr of nice easy riding and i’m there, don’t like to rush… fag lighter won’t work if i go too fast and i might spill my pint !!

Is that not what it’s all about being self employed if the sun is shining make the most of it liked your excuse Marcella bathing the dogs ( wish I could bath mine they look at me and say water no way I say ok 😛
skiving was a better one spect you’ll work twice as hard when the sun stops shining ,drag on nice work every thing is a bit confused here but hey 😎

    thanks lynn,

it was the first time i’ve flooded a large board like this, took a bit longer than i thought, but i’m pretty pleased with the results 😀

Nice work. What software do you use? Vehicles are good. All done on the kitchen table? Impressive.

    thanks Fozzie !

all done on coreldraw 12, the vehicles are pretty easy really, i used a little corel tip i picked up on the letterheads board in the US, you can apply it to any image you like really, some things turn out better than others tho, ideally you want a nice clean image with little background junk, then go from there, the trucks are way better than the roadrunners cos i had a higher quality image to start with the runners are a little pixelated, i thought the cutter was having a siezure when they were going !

i’d love a workshop to be in all day, i still need to line it all out and make it presentable / dust free ! the dining table doubles as a weeding bench for the bigger stuf, aswell as a taping table, looking at the scratches on it now, it won’t be long before i’ll have to rub that down and re varnish it, ormaybe i’ll just flood coat it with brushed aly effect vinyl ! moving that big board around was interesting to say the least, i just hope i dont get a request for a 10×5 or someting of the like before i get into the workshop !

i’ve attached a couple of pics below to show another example of the vectored cars i like playing about with,
