Sign Post Solution – Easy Removable!
I have a job to do for a customer that entails the need to remove and replace a post sign.
She has an extremely long drive up to her farm, at the side of the drive she wants me to install two post signs about 6ft high stating 5mph. No problems there then.
However her husband has thrown a spanner in the works, he wants to be able to remove the post signs quickly and easily so he can cut the privet hedge from his hedge cutting device on his tractor. Once removed and the hedge cut around the post area he wants to be able pop the post back in and continue with his hedge.
Does anyone know of a solution and if so a supplier?

hi, simple method..
sink a post into the ground, about 12-18 inch then manufacture a post to slot on top with a sleeve on it so it slides inside, slip a bolt through it to secure it.. sorted.
i did have a diagram of a similiar one we did some time ago, but not able to post any pics on this forum..send me an email address and i’ll email it too you, it might help.

get a drain pipe from local DIY use it as a sleeve and bed it in in concrete, or if you can’t find one that fits, put a plastic bag over a well greased pole and put into a big dolup of concrete, you may have to pad the pole a little as concrete shrinks a little when setting

you could use a square section post, hinged at ground level, with a shoot bolt or similar to lock in the upright position, and just fold it down when hedge cutting.better still, tell the guy to learn how to drive the machine!
Our local farmers trim the hedges without removing the road signs!
