Sign: Druid Inn
Posted by Jayne Marsh on August 15, 2005 at 8:34 amI havent posted any work lately as there hasnt been anything even remotely interseting to show! This was a very simple job to produce the signs for but an absolute pain to fit. We had to remove very old signage and replace it with new signage in the exact same places, the stonework was so hard to drill and to top it all, it poured down. Also the customer would only let us fix when the place was closed, 2 hours in the morning and two hours in the afternoon!

They look nice, good stuff. There’s some bloody awkward places to fit them though, how did you manage the one that sticks up above the roof line? Balancing on the pitch roof below?

We had scaffolding to take down the existing sign and replace with the new one. There was an existing bracket there and we had to cut off the old sign and match up the new sign to the old bracket, not easy. It was amazing how the old signs were fixed, a wing and a prayer I think 😮

Jem, that is just fantastic!
What a difference.
I love the colors that you used as well.
:clap2:
Love….Jill -
The signs look really nice, what are they made from?
Its a shame they have all them white wires hanging all over.. Spoils the overall look.Simon

Signs are made from 3mm Alupanel, with Mactac gold cast vinyl applied to the satin side of the Alupanel. The wires were a pain but the owner has said he is going to tidy up the wiring which will make it look alot better

Nice work Jem.
Can’t help thinking the old signs still had a couple on years left in them.Martin

Nice work Jem
What was the owner like. Did he wear a long robe have a beard and look like a heavy metal rocker from the seventies 😕

Thanks everyone, never saw the previous owner 😮
New owner is very nice, will be even nicer when I get paid 😀
We had the very naggy neighbour from hell to deal with as well whilst putting up the signs but even he grudgingly admitted it looked alright when it was finished -
looks good Jem 😀 it’s a pain when the weather and time are against you well done, bet the naggy neighbour goes in for a pint were you blocking the door (?)

I bought the alupanel in the black colour you see, it has a matt side and a gloss side, but I would say that the gloss isnt very shiny, its more like a satin finish. The food is supposed to be very good as its just been taken over by the owners of a chain of restaurants, if you are in the area feel free to look me up! 😀
