Show us your… BIKE
Posted by Steve Newell on April 10, 2010 at 5:02 pmI know there’s a lot of bikers on the boards, so now the new ‘season is upon us I was wondering what everyone else will be riding this summer.
My own bike is an 08 BMW R1200GS. My wife says I love it more than I love her. My answer is ‘it depends if its sunny or not’. Never had such a great allround bike before.
Its just had a new frame and front end fitted due to an altercation we had with a deer in October!Come on, lets see what you got.

Well, as I know I’d do something (more) stupid on something with an engine I’ll be getting back onto my bike of the pedal variety this summer.
Was planning on doing it for the past while as I’m tired of being a tad lardy in the middle and wish to avoid already having middle-age-spread before I hit middle age.
Had this for ages – still in very good nik. A few changes of running gear but otherwise a nice ride.

I’m also on the non motorised variety, haven’t taken this out for a while but went out today for the first time in a few years and was great, still very unfit and 4 stone heavier than I arrived in UK but hopefully this year will get me back in it and shed it all off again 😉 curse you British for your great food and extremely large range of desserts, chocolates, cakes and biscuits 👿 (hot)

Nice helmet Derek shame some idiot borrowed it off you for a race and landed face first on it smothering it in claret haha sure I have some pics before I trashed it!
-
Nice to see some great bikes on here
Derek, I would stay off bikes or your wife will do the same to the other hip. I know mine would!
Neil, you had my perfect garage. Nutter sportsbike for a weekend thrash and a GS for everything else. Nice. I’d swap the kids.
Mike, you had a lovely chopper 😮
To the guys with pushbikes, get an engine 😀
-
John, your second bike looks like my perfect ride…Any details can you forward them to me….
-
I took my bike out today for the first time in months. Had starting issues with it and the weekend it went into the garage to get sorted I had my p ussy cat altercation. So 1.5 months down the line since then I decided the sun was shining and the bike was calling. Glad to say both the bike and the hand were up to the job. Just have to be careful and avoid emergency stops as my pinkie power is still not 100%. 😉

Nice Bikes Craig
Wouldn’t mind a 990 adventure myself
I could imagine the wifes face if I bought another bike 👿 -
-
quote RayRosher:So here’s mine.
ST1100. The perfect bike.
Equally at home scratching around the lanes, or gobbling up the miles crossing Europe. 😀
-
Here’s a picture of me from a few years back when I used to enjoy the odd burn up with a bird up on my bike 😕
-
Pan European….hmmmm been looking at those a lot lately! 😉
Phil, you look so different with your glasses off!

Yep! lovely bike! Mine as over a hundred k on it and still going strong.
The only real issue with this bike is the exhaust ie price of, And the swing arm which tends to go, -

Hi Rob,
This is my 4th KTM (Orange)- the last one was a 690 Enduro (single cylinder) where as this is a 950 V-Twin…far to much for me to handle…but I’m going to enjoy trying 😉
-
good for you mate… i love bikes, but i stear clear of the ones with engines… ide kill myself, too much carry-on in my head. :lol1:
was considering buying a jet-ski for this summer, but same reason, had second thoughts. hired a large one out in ibiza last year and hammered the life out it on the sea. loved it… but again, i need to wisen up before i kill myself. so ill make do with my push bike. 🙄 :lol1: :lol1: :lol1: -
Yeah but Rob the thing about Jetskis is driving around with and having to back up that pesky trailer.
😳
I once had a stranger back me up at a ramp in Florida, he watched me trying for 10 minutes and couldn’t stand it anymore.
I was crying and very grateful for his help.
😀
I hate Jetskis and trailers too! -
great pictures Craig…where is the second one from the top taken?
-
Thanks, top two at Kells, next two at Ulster GP last one Kells
keep the wires tight boy! -
Here are my two latest bikes. Since retiring from Grasstrack and Speedway sidecar racing I still had the urge to have a bike for fun, the Yam was great but Wifey hated it so had to go 😥 . I then saw a Harley advertised localy at a good price, so now it’s ‘life in the slow lane’ for me. Wifey tolerates the HD, but would rather I stuck to a car 🙄

Cheryl…. Ya just know Dave is gonna pop up with something smooooth to say after posting a pic of yerself in leathers!!

Dave is probably off somewhere taking matters into his own hands after those pix.
Cheryl, I just love the last one.
So ladylike and demure, a very classy photo.
I envy you your free spirit. I can’t even drive a car properly.
Or a bicycle. -

I think I might be a wee bit behind but here’s my bikes, past and present:
my first ‘big’ bike, 2005 sv650’s’ at cadwell park…
then I went onto an sv1000s in anniversary colours (2005)
and then recently I picked up an SRAD 750 (1998)..

Nice bikes Paul….Cadwell shot loks like coming out of Mansfield?
You still doing track days?
-
quote Roger Clements:Nice bikes Paul….Cadwell shot loks like coming out of Mansfield?

I *think* it was the left hander in the left-right turn before the mountain but I don’t know any of the names for the corners lol. That’s the only track day I’ve ever done (had only been riding about a year) and as the fast group was full, all the mentallists on fully race prepped bikes decided to flood the ‘novice group’. A guy on a ducati nearly had me off as he was trying to keep with his mates, so that put me off doing one for a while.
I’m alot quicker/more confident now and the 750 SRAD keeps encouraging me to book a trackday – it handles so well and is powerful enough to entertain without being over the top like the gsxr1000’s. Will prolly go to cadwell again as it’s not too far and it’s really quite challenging 🙂

booked on the bike magazine track day at cadwell park on 17th august – £99 for full day 8:30 – 5:30… mucho cheapness! 🙂
anyone else fancy it maybe?
