Here’s one I finished last Sunday, kept putting it off all last week due to rain but had to get soaked in the end as they wanted to open Monday.

    Hope you like

    Cheers

    Hi Lynn

It’s 5mm Forex, wet sprayed chocolate brown on the edges and then flood cated with brown vinyl on the front. On the back are two 10cm wide strips of 10mm thick Forex running the whole length and glued with Fusion + few screws to make sure – although the brown panels are only 5mm they should neve warp.

Looks like it’s gone from "shave & a haircut two bits" to high end posh glam!
    Very nice work.

    Macky, that looks very nice,

But.. I have to ask, why did you use foamwhatever for such a really good overall effect? The sign is not that large, so for just a few quid more, would dibond or perspex been better?

The time you put into design and build would have not increased the total cost that much more to use better materials?

I know sometimes, we all have to work to a budget, but I sometimes wonder if we get it right, A good sign, like this, deserves to be made from materials that match the creative skill put into it….

Not a crit, just a comment

Looks like a lot of work has gone into this
Did you have to build away from the guttering or is that shuttering box

The shop looks so totally transformed
    Well Done!

    Hi Peter

Cash flow is king at the moment as still in that start up phase!! Have to use the materials available in the workshop sometimes – bit like this time then had to over engineer things to ensure they won’t warp etc etc.

John – yep had to build out the fascia as the sign now runs up in front of the guttering. This took as long as making the actual sign!!! Had to make sure it was striong enough, was water tight etc.

    Thanks for all the comments.

    Cheers

    Macky,

Looks really good. Well designed. Would not have looked half as good if it had just been flat vinyl. Something I am guilty of is not using the extra bit of imagination required to achieve great results like this.

    Well done mate.
