… sorry I’ve been a bit absent 🙁 I’ve been flying and driving between canberra – sydney and Brisbane for the last month or so. The raiders bus was over 2500 klm’s in the work van, and I’ve flown back twice since to do more vehicles. Wish I had a twin!!

    Impressive!
I love the TFC van the best.
I’ll bet your arms feel about to fall off.
(not from flying from all that squeegeeing)
Glad you are so busy Shane.
    Love….Jill

yes mate, I’ve worked 7 days a week for about 3 months, with a day off here and there. I think I’ve done about 16 buses in the last 2 months, all interstate, as well as my work load back here at work. My customers ahve been great tho. I gave them plenty of warning that I’d be hard to catch for this month and last month, and most worked around my schedule.

I’ve got 20 more buses, 5 trucks and heaps of ‘normal’ work to complete before the end of june, then it will probably go really quiet for me. I decided I need some full time help tho. My mum, dad and son have all pitched in at various times. Mum and dad spent a week in sydney helping me do 10 buses. At 72 and 74, it was a huge week for them, long days as well as wet and cold. I made sure they ate well though, and we stayed in a very nice motel so they could rest comfortably. Nearly killed them tho.

Yea Jill, perhaps too busy, but trying to make hay while the sun shines.

Mum and dad have been a great help. My sister works for me now doing my accounting, as dad used to do it, but its getting too busy for him now. I bought them a new car which they pickup on wednesday. It is a little thank you from me for being so supportive all these years.

Totally agree with Martin mate. I’ve just started back. Thought all was ok only to find the damage I thought was gone is still there. Try and make time for yourself and your family. 😉

Thanks for the comments friends, and the concern.

I do have some health issues that I am having to watch, and yes, I’ve pushed the limits a bit too far some weeks, but I think I’m keeping that in check…. hopefully. My wife keeps tabs on me anyway, she’s a sweetheart in that respect.

We both took the day off on friday and just spent the time doing things we haven’t done in ages – go out for lunch together etc, and it was great. Unfortunately, I’m probably paying the price now as I probably should have been doing artwork for this weeks work, but I needed a break, and it was nice to recharge to batteries for the day, spending the time with the wife.

Thanks again. I appreciate your concern.

    Thanks again friends.

Forgot to give you the details 🙂

Everything was done dry, except the window decals on the raiders bus. My son and I had to work off ladders, so doing the windows dry was going to be a nightmare.

The raiders bus measured 15m long x 3m high. I laid printed sheets on the bus, and hand cut around all the graphics and text.

The "Change for NSW’ buses were babies in comparison, 2.4m x 10m. I did the sides in two panels (5.5m each) on each side, hinged from the top, and dry.

    All jobs were 3M IJ40c

Otto, 10 years ago, I would run from this sort of work. Now its all I seem to get. I usually do them on my own, but being interstate, it paid to have help to get the job done quicker. It just takes a bit to get your head around, but it is satisfying work when its done .

This globus bus I did wet (sorry rob) but it was a huge job and the dry application was just asking for trouble. Used a full roll of 1220mm 3M Red on this one. Then we fitted the printed graphics, and hand cut the strips.
