Hi new comer, where did you get this info from.

I have wired up a 9 to 26 pin serial cable in the manner you have laid out out it is not communicating with the cutter.

    Carl,

I have a Roland PNC 1100 which I believe is a similiar machine to yours and run with a serial cable. I just used one off the shelf from PCWorld or somewhere, never had any problems. Can’t understand why you are getting involved rewiring cables.

By the way what Motorsport are you into because I am a bit of a fan and sometime competitor, I own three Camaro race cars for my sins. I also originally formed and ran (for 10 years) the Racing Saloon Car Cub which in turn runs The Toyo Tyres Modified Saloon Car Championship with the BARC.

    Hi All,

I think the problem you are having with the cable is because the pin outs appear to be for a 25 to 25 pin connector.

Please find below the pin connections for a 9 pin female to a 25 pin male serial cable for a Roland Plotter. (The 9 pin is on the left, 25 pin on the right).

    1 & 8 — 20
    2 ——– 2
    3 ——– 3
    4 ——– 5 & 8
    5 ——– 7
    6 ——– 4
    7 ——– 6

The default settings for roland plotters are:

9600 baud, 8 data bits, 1 stop bit, no parity, Flow Control Hardware.

    I hope this helps.

    Best Regards,

    Mike Antrum.

    Hi,

Had a problem just as yours but a graphtec 3000 ce, everyone thought cable but in the end it was a conflict with the drivers.
    Hope this helps.

We are getting somewhere, now the cutter leaps into action (well as fast as a 14 year old cutter can) and starts cutting.

HOWEVER, just after it has started, the screen displays ‘error 16’ see user manual and the cutter then stops.

Can anyone shed any light on this.

    Cheers in advance.
