Used to have a Leica Disto, then I moved to the Dewalt.
    I highly recommend it

Hi…. I have also been thinking about using a laser line in some sort of way. Iain you said you wouldnt leave home without it, could you give me an example of what you use yours for ??

    Thanks

Hi Robert, I use it for many things, vertical joint alignment of wallpaper/vinyl panels, timelines, framed prints across walls etc – I’ll post a couple of pics for reference

Aha…. ye thats some great ideas Iain. You see my Dad actually has the exact one you mention, but he is a joiner. I have seen him use it on the occasion and wondered what use it could be to help me. But now that you have shown me some examples, then ye i feel i could use it…. So how are you fix it to the walls etc of where you are working at the time ?

You can buy levels that can clamp to the back of a charge, I’ve just bought one with a tripod….."Stanley CLLI"

Robert, i use the dewalt DW088 too, mostly for odd shaped vans like customs or berlingo’s works mint.
Get a tripod with a built in level though!!

Thanks Chris. Do you have a pic example of your set up so I can see what you mean ?

We have a dewalt and tripod too,

Did a new shape transit the other day, we still levelled by eye, the graphic was level but just didn’t look right on the van

In a fix, for the rear we put a piece of masking tape from a hinge or a light across to the other sides, this gives a level

We also use builder string attached to magnets, attach a bricklayers level to the string and adjust till level

Thanks Denise. Ye they are good ideas [emoji106]

And ye the new transit custom is murder. I have done two now and they never look right. As all the lines on the van run down at an angle
